Picture Puzzle March 2026
Instructions for our latest picture puzzle
Things to
Note
The museum
does not specify the actual dimensions of the picture. For our puzzle I have
divided the picture into 10 pieces. Height 5.5 inches by 11 inches width.
Although the picture was originally painted as a portrait the most practical
way to arrive at our required number was to divide it was into landscape slices
– see above.
Whilst there
is no restriction in your painting medium bright bold colours would follow the
artists intension, think David Hockney. The main object is for the pieces to
match up so careful placement is suggested, especially at the edges. Our final picture, when all the pieces have
been completed, will be 27.5 inches
height and 22 inches wide.
If you go
online you will see that I have cropped the top slightly to
get to a workable size.
Hilary Pecis
has a slightly whimsical style. The nature of each object is more important to
her than an actual geometric copy.
If you want
to match her colours use the picture on the blog as matching with printing ink
is very difficult. However, by way of consolation, the picture of your piece is
actual size.
One
additional thing to note . The pieces were divided by yellow lines to enable
cutting. If any of these lines appear at the edge of your piece ignore them.
Best of luck.
